The Visitor

“I watch. I wait.”

“I remember all the shameful things. And I beg for your forgiveness.”

I remember all the shameful things. The secrets I've kept hidden away, the moments of darkness I'm not proud of. And I beg for your forgiveness.

But maybe you're not ready to hear my story just yet. Maybe you're not ready to understand what led me here, to this dark place.

You see, I have a visitor. Someone who watches me, who waits for me. And they know all my secrets. They know the shameful things I've done, and they're not afraid to remind me of them.

Every night, when I'm alone in this dark room, they come to visit. They tell me their stories, and force me to relive mine. It's torture, but I can't escape it.

There's no telling what might happen if I try to run away from this place or from my visitor. They'll find me, sooner or later. And then the cycle will start again: the shame, the guilt, the fear.

So instead, I sit here and wait for them to come back again tomorrow night. I dread their visits, but at least they keep me company in this dark place...
