The Rhadamanthine Martyr’s Day Plates
“How can I explain this feeling of endless pain?”
“I thought I was in control”
I thought I was in control. I thought that I could handle anything that life threw at me. But then, the Rhadamanthine Martyr’s Day Plates came along.
At first, I didn’t even know what they were. All I knew was that every day, when I would go to the museum to look at them, the pain in my chest would get worse and worse. It felt like there was a weight on my chest, pushing down on me until I couldn’t breathe.
I tried to ignore it at first, but eventually the pain became too much to bear. I had to find out what was causing it. So, one day, I took a closer look at the plates. And that’s when I realized what they were.
They were martyrdom plates from the ancients. Each one depicted a different way of dying – being burned alive, crucified, beheaded – and each one caused more pain than the last.
I couldn’t believe it. The museum had been hiding these plates from me all this time! And now, because of them, I was stuck with this never-ending pain in my chest.
