The Battle of The First Hail
“Does everyone feel like this afterwards?”
“You have made a covenant with death, and with Eurylae you are in agreement!”
The first hail storm in centuries descended upon the small town of Shepherdstown. It was a beautiful sight to behold, but it was also deadly. The hail was so large and heavy that it crushed roofs, broke windows, and killed innocent people who were caught outside.
The storm lasted for hours, and when it was finally over, the town was in shambles. Many homes were destroyed, businesses were ruined, and people had lost their lives.
In the aftermath of the storm, the townspeople gathered together to mourn their losses and rebuild what was left of their community. They all asked themselves the same question: why did this happen? Why did God send such a devastating storm down on them?
Some people said that it was because of sinfulness in the town. Others said that it was because of God's anger at mankind. But no one could answer definitively why this had happened.
One thing was clear though: life would never be the same in Shepherdstown again.
