The Ivory Realm’s Listening Posts

“Such is the fate of all who are greedy, whose unjust gain takes the lives of its possessors”

“How long will the direct delight in their scorn?”

The Ivory Realm’s Listening Posts were once a source of great pride for the kingdom. Situated high in the mountains, they allowed the king and his court to keep tabs on all who passed through the kingdom’s borders. But over time, they became a symbol of something else entirely: greed. The king and his court grew obsessed with watching those who passed through their lands, and soon began taking more and more from those who dared cross their path. The people of the Ivory Realm grew resentful of their rulers, and soon enough, a rebellion was brewing.

One night, a group of rebels scaled the mountains to destroy the listening posts. It was a difficult climb, but when they reached the top, they found that the posts had been abandoned long ago. All that remained were empty rooms full of dusty old equipment. The rebels were about to leave when one of them noticed something strange about one of the walls. There was an odd indentation in it, as if something had been removed recently. He reached out to touch it… and then he saw it: a secret door!

The rebels quickly made their way inside, and after exploring for a few minutes, they came to an underground chamber. Inside were several chests filled with gold and jewels! The rebels couldn’t believe their luck – they had stumbled upon the kingdom’s hidden treasure. They took as much as they could carry and fled back down the mountain.

When word spread throughout the kingdom that there was hidden treasure waiting to be claimed, every man woman and child raced to find it. But by then, it was too late – all of the chests had been looted by others vying for riches. The ivory realm’s listening posts became known as symbols of greed – an ironic twist for a place that once prided itself on its vigilance.
