Running Between The Raindrops

It had been raining for what felt like days. The constant pitter-patter on the window was driving Mia crazy. She had been cooped up inside all week and needed to get out. She looked out the window one last time, seeing that the rain had only gotten worse, before grabbing her coat and heading out the door.

Mia started to run, but quickly realized that it was a mistake. Within seconds, she was drenched head to toe. She continued to run, though, her feet sloshing through the deep puddles. The cold rain was beating down on her face, making it difficult to see or breathe.

Suddenly, she heard a loud noise behind her. She turned around just in time to see a large truck barreling towards her. There was no time to react; she knew that she was going to die. As the truck hit her, all she could think was "I should have stayed inside."
